The story and background of the founder
The founder of ProHoiva is Promise Nwagu. Promise moved to Finland in 2003 to work as a child nurse and after that has trained to become a nurse and business developer. Promise was in the first team of nurses when a group home “Kehäkukka” for memory-loss patients was founded. There he worked for over 9 years. In addition, Promise has work experience from the field as a night nurse, from private home care, as a hospice nurse and from on-demand work from various hospitals in the metropolitan area for over 10 years. In the municipal service Promises’ experience was that nursing is easy and excessive bureaucracy steals time for taking care of people. As an entrepreneur, his goal is to create a workplace where nurses and clients do well and also to be an example to other immigrants how to live a blessed life in Finland. Promise believes that regardless of illness or circumstances, everyone has the right to a dignified life. That’s why we want to offer Pro Care (in Finnish Pro Hoivaa) (Pro=Professional, Care is Hoiva in Finnish). A service, which values are to create security and joy to people. Promise is married and has two children. He is responsible for ProHoiva’s business operations together with his Finnish wife.
